Quote from "I have a dream" Speech

" Free at Last! "

Having to choose a quote from Martin Luther King's speech was hard to choose, because there were a cuple of good quotes and we couldn't decide which one was the best one. We ended up picking the simples quote which was, "free at last, free at last! thank god almighty, we are free at last!"

I think that this quote means that the people are now thanking god and Martin Luther King about their freedom, and the racism that there was around them at all times. They are now happy that someone (Martin Luther King) actually came to speak up for all African Americans's freedom to share everything with white people.

When i hear this quote i think of how the African Americans are happy that Martin Luther King got the courage to speak up, and talk about his dream and how its so unfair how white people and black people couldn't go down town and share the public restrooms, drink from the same water fountain or how black people had to sit all the way at the back of the cta busses, and how black children went to school and teacher wouldn't let them sit with the rest of the children just because of the fact that he/she was different colored skin. After Martin Luther Kings speech, all this changed. Now in days students, blacks and whites share same schools, public restrooms, grocery stores, and water fountains without racism.

This was Martin Luther King's dream, his dream was for people to get along no matter what color skin they were and to live in peace without any racism. He wanted to see how little by little people from any geritage would hug each other with love and as a family.

The American Dream...!

Well, I was talking to my dad and his American dream is to have a job that would pay him enough to be able to support us (his family), and since he came here to the United States, he also wants to send a good amount of money to Mexico were his parents are at, to help them with their payments. Well this isn't his only dream, his other dreams are to get his paper fixed up so he could go back to Mexico and see his brothers and sisters ass well as his parents. And his last dream is to buy our own house, so we won't have to pay for rent each month.

Based on my mom, her American dream is to have her papers fixed to be able to have a good job that would pay her enough money to help my dad buy a house. And her other dream is to help us go on in school and for us (her kids) to have the education that she never got to have as a child.

immigrants should stay!

Don't you just hate when people talk about immigrants and they have the wrong impression of them? I think that people should have a little consideration for immigrants to come to the U.S.A and have a better life. Some people think that immigrants are coming over the U.S and to take over there country, but seriously what they really want is to get a good education for their children, and a better life for themselves.

Immigrants are actually from all over the place. About half of all Mexicans in the United States are undocumented, and theres other more from different countries. People now, are complaining about how its so unfair that they can't have a chance to stay in the United Stes, and to be able to complete or make up a better life than they had before.

Undocumented immigrants have a right to stay im the U.S as others have the right to stay too. Coming to America means alot for undocumented immigrants, because here's were they had the idea that they would be able to make their dreams come true. They want their children to have a better life and a really good education. They want to have a better job, a better family, a better type of living, and what they also want is for their children to have the life that their parents never had the chancwe to have...!

Goal Accomplishments

Goals I have Accomplished...

I have accomplished some goals. Some of these goals that i have accomplished are first, i dyed my hair colored intense red...and i did it over the weekend, at first i didnt really like it but now i do, well a little. The second goal that I accomplished was to re-decorate my room. I actually took everything off and put thing of my favorite colors, which are blue and green, i bought a cuple of things like blue covers for my bed, a green lamp, and i bought some things to hang pictures up on the wall. And I put up some posters of my favorite band. I think that's all the goals I have accomplished for now...!
